Mac Users, unless you are extremely technical and knowledgeable, don't try installing this on a real Mac (Apple hardware), you almost certainly will 'brick' it. Clover configuration is used to 'configure' Clover. For the same reason the page on Clover Configurator shouldn't be on MacUpdate either. If you want to discuss 'hacking' a Mac, there are plenty of other sites. Clover by itself is not a violation, but it's only purpose is to assist the installation of macOS on non Apple hardware, which is a violation.

It is for use with 'hackintosh' machines, non Apple hardware that is rigged to boot macOS. I don't see it more an issue than if installing a ZFS filesystem on your drive, even though Apple wouldn't want you to do so. )īut after all, provided you put a disclaimer for the non savvy, why not put it here? It's related to MacOS, it's not piracy, it doesn't modify the OS. I was indeed surprised to find it here for 2 reasons: one is because of course it's meant in the first place for the hackintosh scene - but again, some people might find it interesting to have a different bootloader to boot Windows or Linux on their Mac (I haven't tried it myself.) - and two because I think the people who need it already know what to do with it and where to find it.
